TDG Series Draft Guagehe TMS DG Series Electronic Draft Gauge replaces obsolete, unreliable and expensive to maintain mechanical draft (low pressure) gauges. The DG Series uses a solid state pressure sensor to replace the older style mechanical pressure gauge element. This solid state pressure sensor is very stable over time and is quite insensitive to temperature changes and mechanical shock which allows the DG Series to maintain accurate calibration over a wide range of operating conditions.

The DG Series comes in a variety of off-the-shelf or custom configurations, including single and multiple (up to 6) gauge assemblies. The attractive black faceplate can be custom printed with any scales and terminology that might be required for your particular installation.

Inside each gauge, a microprocessor reads the output of the pressure sensor and drives the bright LED bargraph display. Upper and lower limit LEDs provide visible warnings should the input pressure be out of range. High and Low alarm relays are available, and relay action is selectable (fail on or fail off) to provide flexible alarm functions.

NORMAL OPERATION:

Installation of the DG Series series is a simple matter of wiring a 120VAC supply to the back panel terminal block, and connecting the process tubing to the 1/4" ferrule-type tubing connector. If the alarm option has been ordered, wiring will also have to be connected to the alarm relay output terminals. Span and Zero adjustments on the back of the unit are used for calibration. The DG Series may be ordered pre calibrated.

The DG Series Electronic Draft Gauge does not require any operator intervention and will perform its function as a draft pressure indicator reliably and accurately for many years. When the device is first powered up, the display will light completely for about one second. This feature was provided for use as a lamp test function. After this power-on test, the gauge will function normally.

There are Upper and Lower Limit warning LEDs at the top and bottom of the bargraph display. If a Limit LED is lit and not flashing, the pressure is exactly at that limit of the display. If the Limit LED is flashing, the pressure is out of the limit (above or below) of the gauge indicating range.

The LED display can be configured to read out in Bar Mode or Dot Mode, by changing a switch at the back of the unit. In Bar Mode, the uppermost LED of the bar (lighted from the bottom up) indicates the process pressure. In Dot Mode, only one LED will be lit to indicate the process pressure.

If the High/Low Alarm option has been included, the DG Series will come equipped with two (2) single pole, Form C relays, each rated for pilot duty. One relay is designated as the High Alarm, and the other is the Low Alarm. Each relay is individually selectable as Normally Energized or Normally De-energized. Alarm setpoints are adjusted by means of two multi turn adjustments marked HA (High Alarm) and LA (Low Alarm) on the back of the unit.

It is possible to show the alarm setpoints continually on the display. A switch on the back of the DG Series selects the "Display Alarm Setpoint" mode, wherein two of the display LEDs are designated as the Alarm Setpoint Indicators. If any Alarm Setpoint Indicator should be below the process pressure while in the Bar Mode, that indicator will be off. In other words, all the LEDs below the process pressure will be lighted except the Alarm Setpoint Indicators. Any Alarm Setpoint Indicators above the process pressure will be lighted.
